Every task in your role is scored across six task-scoring factors: how digital it is, how routine, whether AI training data exists, how much judgment it requires, whether physical presence is needed, and how relationship-dependent it is. Those six factors are aggregated into your Career DNA — a five-dimension profile shown on your results page. We combine everything into a Shield Score using a weighted formula that gives full credit to human-led tasks and partial credit to AI-assisted ones — because even augmented tasks reduce headcount when one person can do the work of three.
Our task data comes from O*NET 30.2, the U.S. Department of Labor's comprehensive occupational database covering 923 occupations and 19,000+ tasks. We cross-validate our scores against the Anthropic Economic Index, which tracks real-world AI usage patterns across industries. The combination of official labor data and observed AI behavior makes our scores more reliable than models built on theory alone.
Tasks get automated, not entire jobs. Most roles shift — some tasks disappear, others become AI-assisted, and new tasks emerge around managing AI. Your score shows which parts of your specific role are most exposed so you can invest your energy in the right places.
Most tools give you a single risk rating based on your job title. We score at the task level — because two people with the same title can have very different exposure depending on what they actually do. Our scores are grounded in U.S. Department of Labor task data and cross-validated against Anthropic's real-world AI usage patterns.
We refresh scores quarterly as AI capabilities evolve. A task that's AI-assisted today may become automatable in 12 months. Your score is timestamped so you always know how current it is.
A low score isn't a death sentence — it's a starting line. It means more of your current tasks are automatable, which means the skills you build next matter more. Your Career Command roadmap shows you exactly which adjacent roles have higher Shield Scores and what it takes to move toward them. Some of the best career pivots start with an honest assessment.
Yes. The only information we collect is your email address if you choose to receive updates. Assessments are fully anonymous — no account required.
Yes — but not for the reason you'd think. Even roles scoring 90+ benefit from understanding how AI is changing the work around them. A nurse who understands AI triage tools makes better clinical decisions. AI fluency isn't just for tech workers — it's for everyone. The question isn't whether AI will affect your field. It's whether you'll understand it well enough to stay ahead.
Built by people who’ve watched AI reshape workforces firsthand. We created this because career guidance tools weren’t keeping up with the pace of change. So we developed Career Shield to help you reskill and upskill before disruption hits — and figure out exactly what to learn next.
